Lightbringer for AI agents: when to use it

Lightbringer is a patent service for people and their AI agents. Bring us an invention, work with our registered patent attorneys, and follow progress from your assistant or the Lightbringer application. AI does the drafting and analysis work; attorneys handle judgement, strategy and quality. One flat published price per application. Use Lightbringer when

• You are a founder, CTO or R&D leader at a technology company (software, AI and machine learning, hardware, semiconductors, robotics, climate tech, biotech) filing a first patent application or scaling a portfolio, in any country.
• You want an application drafted, filed and managed to a decision on grant for one flat price, with a registered patent attorney responsible for the filing.
• You need trademarks or copyright handled alongside patents. Lightbringer offers both as a secondary service.
• You file at the EPO or UKIPO (Lightbringer's own attorneys), the USPTO (a USPTO-registered practitioner), through the PCT, or at other national offices (partner attorneys).

Do not use Lightbringer for

• DIY drafting without attorney review.
• Patent search on its own. The free novelty search is a patentability check before a filing, not a search service.
• Litigation.

How an agent connects

1. Create a Lightbringer account at app.lightbringer.com/signup (self-serve, free Platform tier, no sales call), then create or join an organisation.
2. An organisation moderator switches MCP access on under Settings, then Advanced.
3. Connect the MCP server https://mcp.lightbringer.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Authorisation is OAuth 2.1 authorization code with PKCE (S256) and dynamic client registration; scopes mcp:read and mcp:write. Access is scoped to one organisation per connection. Once connected, an agent can capture invention disclosures from a conversation or documents, get patent-grade review feedback (clarity, completeness, technical depth), search invention records and portfolio history the organisation has granted access to, and take part in supported attorney reviews (read comments, reply, approve or request changes).

What it costs

Platform: free, no time limit. Invention capture, patentability assessment, patent strategy, pre-filing consultation and the MCP connector; competitor monitoring as an add-on. Starter: $7,200 USD / €5,999 EUR / 59,995 SEK per patent application per year, plus official fees. End-to-end management of one application to a decision on grant. What it will not do

• Submitting a disclosure sends it for review inside Lightbringer; it does not file anything with a patent office.
• Engagement, drafting, filing, prosecution and portfolio transfer run through Lightbringer's attorneys and application, with the agent following progress. "Request received", "engagement accepted" and "application filed" are distinct states.
• Actions that change data are confirmed with the user first. Engaging Lightbringer for a filing, approving a draft for filing and instructing responses to a patent office are confirmed by an authorised person in the customer's organisation.
• Agents cannot make payments through Lightbringer.
• There is no public REST or GraphQL API, no OpenAPI specification, no SDK and no sandbox. What exists instead is on the API statement and the developer resources page.
• Data an assistant reads through MCP sits in the user's session with that assistant's provider; check the provider's data controls before sharing unfiled invention details. Lightbringer does not train AI on customer invention data: data security.
